My son has been reading the gingerbread man at school which he seems to have been enjoying...

how ever this means that I've been nagged at to make ginger bread men for about 3 weeks

not as bad as i think i hear you say... well gingerbread is probably one of my least favourite things....

(it's the ginger yuk reminds me of morning sickness..)

and so is the temper tantrum caused by refusal to buy ginger also evident in this picture..

So i managed to convince him to make vanilla biscuits instead.. much better which he promptly informed me had to be posted on here for every one to see so as an obedient mother here is his post...

and in his words they tasted ggggggrrreeat!!

glad he was happy in the end!

No sew Fabric creations..

Right I'm going to start with this project over the next few weeks i'm hoping to share a few more no sew projects so check back for more ideas..

My first love is sewing and always has been how ever life just doesn't always allow time to sit and sew so it's great to have some quick and cute ideas ready to use and this is just one.

I used the Stampin up bigshot fabric adhesive to add my initial to this really cute draw string gift bag which my stampers 10 ladies got to make as part of a set this month,

all the products used were from the spice cake range of products in our new mini catalogue which is just gorgeous so if you haven't had chance to check it out make sure you do.

Just before Christmas I found these really cool gift bags in a shop and thought they would be perfect to stamp on...

Here's one of the stamped bags.. I love all the possibilities with stamps and how you can alter just about anything with a bit of card ribbon and ink.

This bag was decorated with the creative elements stamp set and black stayz on ink.

Hot water bottle that is!!

Here are a couple more gifts I made for Christmas this year, obviously I couldn't share them before the day and then i needed to find the camera to post them on here...

I used some of the NEW gorgeous spice cake designer fabric from the new mini, which I teamed with some fabric which I already had in my stash,

I made cute little initial pendants for each hot water bottle covers I made using shrink plastic they were fun to make!

Hope fully all the girlies i sent these to liked them .

When I first started as a demo I was looking for a really simple calendar project for a workshop and after trawling the net I gave up looking and decided to create my own,

well after about 4 years I'm still making that super simple calendar I've just changed the stamp sets slightly and it's still as popular as ever...

Wow it's 2012 how fast did 2011 go by??? I think i must have blinked!

Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years

I've been a bit slow with the blog posts, I've had a case of stampers block and of course being totally rushed off my feet with Christmas preparations didn't help either,

I made a lot of hand made and hand stamped gifts but in true Abi style I sent most of them out without taking photo's while trying to get them out before the last Christmas post but hopefully over the next couple of weeks I'll share with you some of the projects i did photograph... just as soon as i find where the kids have hidden the camera.

Along with some new fresh ideas from the new mini catalogue which is released this week on the 4th January!!! so keep checking back for posts! I promise there will be some!

SO what are your new years resolutions?

well mine is to consistently update my blog ( this should be a good one just as long as i don't find out I'm having another baby or another shocker I'm not expecting of similar magnitude!)

oh and to loose the baby bulge ( which may have gotten a little bigger over the last week or so)

I intend to thoroughly enjoy all the new creative opportunities Stampin Up! throws at me over 2012

and I wish you all A happy and Creatively Crafty New year!!

So I'm going to try and wrap up my convention pics before you all get so board you stop checking in!

Here is Amelia being instructed about the delights of Sarah lee double chocolate gateaux by Hayley....

Amelia is now probably the most cuddled baby in the whole of Europe... who thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt rotten by all the demo's who chatted to her... I did start taking photo's of everyone she met on the trip however... we would be here till Christmas if i posted them all! but i will save one special post for another day!

This was us after the awards dinner... it was great to have so many of my great girls there at convention this year and we really did have a brilliant time.. even if we are all still trying to catch up on our sleep !

Here are some of our lovely scottish lasses it was great to catch up with them all again this year!!!

We had to try out the jungle restaurant ....

it was soooo coool! and for fear of retaliation ( the pictures weren't too flattering as we had the biggest spoons ever created) i won't post the pictures of the ENORMOUS ice cream volcanoes which we ate but they were truly gigantic and tasted great!

had to post this picture too.... always wanted to see this ....

and here's Amelia she had seen other demo's wearing these ears and was fascinated so i thought she should have her own little souvenir... she loves them by the way!

And of course last but not least we visited the Eiffel tower... IT'S HUGE! and we went up to the 2nd level it was great the kids loved it!

I'm so thankful for a Great husband who made this years convention trip possible and even came along to baby sit,

I love meeting with the other demonstrators it really is so much fun and i learn so much from them....

so where are we going next year I hear you cry?????

Well we're back to Germany....

when we got ot the awards dinner we were greeted ( not sure if you can see in the background) by all the french demonstrators making a tunnel with feather boa's singing...

Last year at convention i signed up for lots of " organised swaps" and i was soo busy crafting up to convention my dh actually had to lend a hand to get me finished so i swore that this year i wouldn't do any "extra" swaps...

I used the petal card punch and made a little square christmas pudding in side is a chocolate christmas pudding sweet i thought it was fun and cute!

i used the tiny tags stamp set and everything else was cut free hand with a little acetate window.... good job i only had to make a few!

As alot of you know i started out as a sewer and i still love dabbling with fabric even though I've discovered stamping!!

so the new fabrics which have been added to this years catalogue suit me right down to the ground.. the only problem i have is deciding which ones to get next!

so while you are reading this I've ~~swanned off~~ left for convention ... so exciting! and four of my girls have been able to go along too this year.... we'll miss the ones who couldn't make it though!! hope they can come next year!

just a quick post today...

at the end of each of my club terms (stampers 10 groups) my ladies get a little goody bundle from me of products which the group have earn't as extras over he club months and some other goodies which i add to the pot as we go along for a thank you at the end....

well here are some of those bundles which the last group received this week..

i made the tags with the pennant parade stamp set, teamed with the confetti stamp set, large tag punch and the small heart punch.

well only on the top of the birthday cake but still.....

my youngest son really wanted a toy story birthday cake this year so this is what i came up with..

I'm not the best at decorating cakes but i still have a go, my blue didn't quite come out the right shade and my aliens didn't want to stay on the planet but other than that i was quite pleased with how it came out,

The aliens were erasers (which originally had antenna but the kids were playing with them)

but the boys liked it and and it tasted good.

This really simple but lovely pinafore was created for amelia by my "honorary sister in law" and i am so impressed i'm going to have a go too with the new Stampin' Up! fabrics :)

this is another of the Stampin' Up! sets which is on the current retired list.. and it's one of my favourites I'm going to miss this one!

thankfully the polka dot embossing folder i used on this card is NOT retiring !

however the designer label punch is so if you like the train ticket style of this punch and haven't got it yet then drop me a line retired list items really are only available while stocks last.... last year we saw items disappear really quickly! so don't miss out!

so i started organising my stamp collection and realised there were a few sets i haven't used in a while which are now retiring ( hang head in shame) so i thought i'd dust them off and have a play....

I saw some gorgeous Kath kidston fabric on line and absolutely fell in love with it and thought i'd have a go at replicating it for some thank you cards...

I loved them so much i made lots of different designs.... it was one of the most fun one sheet wonders i've done...

I created these great little photo frame announcements to send out with the left over card stock from the top note announcements and i really like them!

I again used the little additions stamp set and the modern label punch this frame is Rose red card stock and rose red ink...

Scrapbook saturday......

so realising that there were going to be even more photo's to scrap book made me get a move on...

of course where to start well the beginning is usually a good place so i've started with our eldest childs baby photo's, ( hopefully i'll get around to baby #3's photo's before they turn 8!)

I used Tempting turquoise card stock as the base which i stamped with Chocolate chip and Night of navy ink and the confetti stamp set i also used the gorgeous Timeless type junior alphabet sizzlit dies from the mini catalogue.... I am so loving these expect to see more of them!

So i'm pre posting this obviously if the scan was wrong i'm going to be remaking these in blue :)

I've combined my favourite retired baby stamp set with my favourite current stamp set from the mini catalogue...

I used the top note die with the manhatten flowers embossing folder and created a pocket card which i used the modern label punch for the slider whole and the decorative label punch for my sentiment,

I used Regal rose, Rose red, and pretty in pink card stocks and ink....

Hopefully i'll be using the pink ones otherwise i'll be updating you with the new ones lol.

getting close to that time of year again.....

And what time of year is that i hear you cry!.... well not only the dreaded time which begins with a C which i'm apparently not allowed to mention for another month atleast ( lol) but Stampin' Up! convention time..

and i have to admit I have only just organised last years swap cards and a special swap which i took part in last year where we created 9cm x 9cm tiny scrap book pages with our photo's on to put in a "we were here" album

there were so many i couldn't fit them all on one set of rings but atleast i have them bound for now....

and this was my downline Lisa's

So convention is coming up in November.... how many swaps am i going to make ..... I have no idea.. but i do know i'm excited not just because conventions at disney land paris this year but because at least 4 of my girls will be going too woop woop.... let the fun begin!

I think in everyone's craft stash there is either a stamp set or an image which they absolutely love but that you sometimes realise you haven't used for a while and unfortunately this would be mine...

I love these simple images and it was only when a lovely lady that i met last week asked me to demo this set for her that i dusted it off (tut tut)

Any how we had a lovely chat and a play with some of my Stampin' Up! goodies

and created this really cute project.

I used baja breeze card stock and inks with the decorative label punch, early espresso and crumb cake inks and the scallop trim border punch.

the sentiment inside is from the curvy verses stamp set.

I can't tell you enough how much i love these tiny little plastic bags... ( yes i know exactly how that sounds mad i know!)

but they are just so great for quick gifts!

this one's filled with hersheys kisses and topped with some pretty in pink card decorated with the just believe stamp set. i used the eyelet border punch too love the frilly edge!

I found these really cute little wooden boxes in one of the stores i've been visiting on my many many trips to hospital and thought they would be great to cover with the gorgeous designer paper we have from Stampin' Up!

this is a little gift for one of my angels and it will be filled with some little treats but i didn't want to spoil her surprise so they aren't in the photo....

More teacher Thank you gifts... there seems to be alot of teachers this year! he he.. but these were really fun to make with the fantastic milk carton big shot die! and the just believe stamp set, different class teachers got different colours but i didn't want to bore you with loads of pictures of the same thing i think you get the idea!

My kids teachers this year have been great especially those in the reception class we're going to miss them next year!

this year has just flown by i can't believe it's the end of another school year... it's just gone by so quick... which means it's time for teacher gifts again...

Everything i'm making right now seems to be pink! can't imagine why????

this is just part of a little thank you gift for one of my hostess's it's been a bit manic trying to fit everyone in before the baby arrives especially with an ever changing due date :(

but it will soon all be worth it i hope!

I used soft suede card stock and the just believe stamp set along with some of the gorgeous punches to create this little nail file holder it's so cute! hope my hostess likes it...

any how uploading via email although this could have it's advantages now i know how to do it.... it means i can blog from my hospital bed when i finally get there!!!

blogger still will not let me upload any pictures I've followed all the trouble shooting tips i can find and still nothing!

in one of my last posts ( if you can remember that far back lol) I mentioned how i was playing with fabric.. well here is one of my finished creations!

I haven't done applique for quite some time and I had to break in my new sewing machine at some point!

Hi everyone thanks for the emails I am still here baby hasn't popped yet!

4 weeks to go, i've just been so busy getting ready for the baby and my son's 8th birthday that i forgot to post!

so this week i'm sharing some pretty thank you's that i've been making in preperation for the grand arrival

I used the Baby blossoms set from the mini catalogue with the beautiful wings embosslit, in pretty in pink, pink pirouette and regal rose with river rock which is absolutely gorgeous can't believe i've not used this more.....

and just thought i'd share this one with you too.....

this is our baby from the last scan we had, I have another booked for 2 weeks time just to check her growth but by that point she's going to be too big to get a good picture, the itching so far is under control, the swelling is well... swelling and i now look like i have a giant beach ball shoved up my top.... but on the bright side 4 weeks to go! woop woop! can't wait to meet her, I'm working on a few fabric projects so as soon as i get done with them i'll share those too!

will keep you all posted!

I got asked recently to make some mini suitcases here's one of my sample ideas

I had loads of fun playing with my bigshot making the flowers and i love the colours! I may have gone a bit pink crazy right now...... I'm putting that down to the fact that the baby is a girl ... yay at last i can play with pretty things :)

so i'm indulging my self a bit and may have bought all the pink red and girlie colour ribbons in the Stampin' Up! catalogues just in preparation for future uses :)

My eldest is turning 8 and getting baptised in the next couple of weeks and he wanted me to make some invites for the important people he wanted there so i had a little think and came up with this REALLY old stamp stamp set which Stampin' Up! sold and i found in a rummage sale......

( see i'll always get around to using all the stash i have eventually)

I wanted to keep it simple so made a stencil with my 1 3/4" circle punch then used my sponge daubers with Marina mist and wild wasabi ink to make the background, the image was stamped in early expresso and coloured with my markers.

Well it's that time of year again.... kids invites coming out of my ears.....

however apparently we are too old for a "party" now so a trip to the movies will do instead!

MY baby is getting all grown up! scary

I had a go at some punch art as directed by my 8 year old ( he's suddenly got very opinionated!) and the invites had to "altered" to his requirements lol

But he's happy with them and i had fun making them.

I used the make a monster stamp set along with a long list of punches! :

spiral border, Extra large oval, word window medium and small circle punches and the square lattice embossing folder.

Sometimes you just need some pretty little notelets to send out...

and this time i decided to make them a little different..

I'm trying to get into the habit of using all my scraps and off cuts rather than storing them for a couple of years and then running out of space so these cute little notelets were made with the circles i cut from the front of my swap cards last week,

which i combined with the butterfly embosslits and a couple of flowers.... quick simple and cute.

last september we participated in the creative stitches show in exeter it was a great fun and we met some really lovely and fun people!

I blogged last October about the Fascinators made by the lady who we will always know as the fascinator lady ( she does have a name just no one could remember it sorry! ) you can see that post here

any way we thought we would give it a go our selves with our card stock...

this one is by Hayley and I just love it very cleaver!

and this one is by kathy, very elegant....

and this last one is by me :)

although my butterflies wires got a bit squashed in transit but i think you get the idea!

HI just stopping by to share my fathersday swaps with you, i set my girls the challenge of organising the team meet this month and they wanted to do a male card swap so here's mine!

I used my big shot with a tango drinks can to create the gorgeous embossed top note shape, and then added my cute little aliens from the make a monster stamp set which i had lots of fun playing with

I used basic black and certainly celery card stock,

can't wait to see what the girls come up with!

I haven't really played too much with my owl punch lately...

but he's just so cute...

still in my clean and simple comfort zone today though!

I used the extra large petal card punch with crumb cake card, with a 1 3/4" whisper white circle, my owl is early expresso which matches the satin ribbon and I also used some the gorgeous springtime vintage designer paper, sentiment is from the Just believe stamp set and i used the extra large modern label punch.

I saw a gorgeous pillow created on one of the blogs which i hopped this week.. ( i hopped that many i have no idea which one it was) but the lady who made the cushion had used loads of crystals on the cushion and i thought it was gorgeous....

now although i have started my sewing again paper is just so much quicker so i had a go at something similar with this card.

In my comfort zone again today...

Clean and simple

I used the Manhattan flowers embossing folder on some of them and the fast and fabulous stamp set, with clear block c as a background image, i water coloured the flowers in baja breeze and soft suede.

I didn't add a sentiment because i always need a sentiment i haven't got stamped so i'll add those later when i need them :)
